Parks and Pathways

As a lifelong Oregonian and a mother of two, I have found our beautiful, safe, and well-tended parks to be my favorite part of living in Lake Oswego. My children and I love to visit East Waluga to be shaded by the oak trees, West Waluga to play in the sandbox and visit the dog park, Iron Mountain to enjoy the slide, and George Rodgers for a view of the Willamette.

However, we must improve our safe access to these green spaces that make our city such a wonderful place to live. Many parks have limited or no sidewalk or safe pathway access. “Shoulder pathways” do not keep children safe from distracted and speeding drivers while walking to these parks or to their schools. As a City Councilor, I will do everything in my power to make sure that we can all walk around our beautiful city safely.
